Welcome to WSA New Zealand. We look forward to representing great New Zealand initiatives and promoting local digital impact ventures that improve society and the world we live in. New Zealand is one of over 180 UN member states represented in the WSA network, and as your National experts, we are honoured to support you to enter these prestigious awards. 

The World Summit Awards are a unique awards system, selecting and promoting local digital innovation with high-impact initiatives that improve society. With 20 years of international experience, WSA  is a quality seal for digital content creators who have created projects that bring value to communities and benefit across a wide range of award categories.

The awards were first initiated in 2003 in Austria, under the framework of the United Nations World Summit on the Information Society (UN WSIS). The declared aim of the conference was to make information and communication technology accessible for all.

To apply, you need to register on this website and fill out the application for the National Round until June 30th, 2025.

The application consists of 17 mandatory questions, but don’t worry:

• 2 are simple yes/no questions,
• 1 is a multiple-choice selection,
• 3 require answers under 200 characters.

That means you’re really answering just 11 full questions, and completing the form should take between 30 to 90 minutes.

Your responses will help WSA National Experts assess your solution's relevance and impact. Based on this information, they will decide whether to nominate you for the WSA Global Contest.

WSA welcomes digitial solutions that

1) Create positive impact (and can provide measurable impact numbers),

2) Are fully launched and operational,

3) Were launched in 2022 or later.

Since 2003, over 600 Winners have been awarded from over 82000 nominations. WSA winners use digital technology in creative and innovative ways to tackle local and global challenges.
